In 2022, my mum was coming to her final days after battling motor neurone disease. She had had ups and downs in whether she believed in Jesus or not. I prayed that we would spend time together in prayer with Jesus alongside my family.

Near the end of her life a neighbour suggested Lectio 365, and while she rested after being dressed, she asked for us to leave it on for her to listen to.

In her last 2 weeks, I ended up joining her and we would listen together and then spend a short time after in prayer, and in the last few days, my brother and dad also joined us in this. They are not regular church goers or pray-ers, but it really gave us a framework to pray, to bring Jesus into our lives in the most difficult of times, and to feel his peace somehow.Now I have spent some time away, I come back to it and think of her and those times as I also listen and pray to Jesus, and it really is a beautiful memory that I will cherish forever.
