Awakening: how revival begins in me

9 October, 2025

Have you ever felt like you’re sleepwalking through life?

We are hearing stories of a growing spiritual curiosity in nations around the world. In the UK we read reports of a “quiet revival” among unexpected people.

Over four weeks on Lectio 365 morning prayers, we will be praying for ourselves as individuals, for the Church as a whole, and for the culture around us to wake up to the presence and invitation of God.

Revival doesn’t start ‘out there’ with someone else. It begins ‘in here’ – the prayer lives of every day believers.

The Awakening Series

For four weeks in October 2025, Lectio 365 morning prayers will journey through the theme of ‘Awakening’ as a response to prophetic words about the need to wake up, documented research and a growing report of cultural shifts that extend beyond the Church.

News articles report growing numbers of Bible sales with a 22% rise in the US, and UK polling shows an ever-developing story of what people believe about God. In a time when the world feels uncertain, many high-profile social media influencers are sharing stories of finding faith and encouraging their followers to engage too.

There is a call, which this series aims to bring us to. To wake up to God and experience this present moment, experiencing personal renewal. To pray and act to wake up the Church to this opportunity. And to do the same for the culture around us to the reality of Jesus and his kingdom.

The series

Awake my soul

In Week 1, we will be looking at personal awakening – waking up to reality in God. We’ll be asking the question “how does revival begin in me?” led by Izwe Nkosi.

Awake the imagination

In Week 3, we will be looking at awakening imagination and ‘the fear of the Lord’, and how we commit our lives to live for his Kingdom, led by Sarah Yardley.

Awake the Giant

In Week 3, we will be looking at awakening the church, looking at stories of revival through history and growing in our awareness of what the Spirit is doing, led by Joshua Luke Smith.

Awake the culture

In Week 4, we will be looking at cultural awakening and what is happening in this generation. This week builds up to the 24-7 Prayer International Gathering in Stuttgart, and is led by Jill Weber.

Revival starts with me

Everything we see happening in the church around the world is an encouragement to the call for personal awakening.

Join us each day in morning prayers, as we follow this call and seek for revival to begin in ourselves.
